HEALTH SERVICES, TRANSPORT AND COUNTY PUBLIC SERVICE CEC NOMINEES VETTED AND APPROVED BY THE HOUSE

The County Assembly of Nyeri approved the Nomination of Dr. Joseph Kiragu CEC Nominee for Health Services, Eng. Abdi Hussein, Nominee for Transport, Public Works and Infrastructure and Mr. Peter Ngatia , the Nominee for Public Service and Public Administration Forwarded to the Assembly by H.E Governor Mutahi Kahiga.

 

While moving the motion for adoption of the report, the Majority Leader and Mahiga Ward MCA Hon. James Kanyugo informed the House that the three Nominees appeared before the Appointments Committee and were vetted in accordance with the Public Appointments (County Assemblies Approval) Act No. 5 of 2017. He also noted that the Committee examined the overall suitability based on their academic qualifications, work and professional experience, employment record, integrity, vision and leadership. Additionally, the approval hearings aimed at gauging the Nominee’s knowledge of the relevant subject, key priorities among others.

In supporting the motion, the Hon. Members observed that the Nominees possess the requisite abilities, Qualifications and professional experience required for appointment to the Office of the County Executive Committee adding that they must utilize the skills to provide timely and quality services to the Nyeri citizenry.

 

In a sitting Chaired by the Speaker Hon. James Gichuhi, the Hon. Members emphasized the need for all the County Executive Committee Members (CECs) in various dockets to serve with excellence and expedite the projects geared towards improving the livelihoods of Nyeri residents.

HOUSE APPROVES THE NYERI COUNTY FINANCE BILL, 2023The County Assembly of Nyeri has this morning approved the Nyeri County Finance Bill, 2023 which provides for the amendment of the Nyeri County Revenue Administration Act, 2014 in relation to taxes, fees and charges for various services and other revenue raising measures.While moving the motion for third reading, the Chairperson Finance and Economic Planning Committee and Mukurwe-ini West Ward MCA Hon.
