Lucy Wanyitu today held a consultative meeting with officers from the the Department of Gender and Social Services led by the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Esther Ndungu and a section of Petitioners on a petition addressing rising cases of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Nyeri County.The petition calls for enhanced budgetary support in the 2026/2027 Financial Year to strengthen GBV prevention and response.Key proposals include establishment of a GBV Rescue Centre, publication of quarterly GBV reports and development of an integrated GBV data system to improve coordination, reporting and survivor support.
