Watson Weru (MCA Karatina Ward)a) Request for a statement from the Chairperson of the Committee on Health Services on why waivers were not granted to the 21 patients detained in Karatina level IV Hospital for failure to settle hospital fees. The action that will be taken to ensure that the patients detained in Karatina Level IV Hospital are discharged as soon as possible and the measures that will be put in place to prevent future detainment of students in County Hospitals due to unsettled hospital bills. b) Hon. Watson also sought answers on the status of the recently installed stand-alone lights in Karatina Ward which are not working. He requested for a statement from the Chairperson of the Committee on Transport, Public Works and Infrastructure on the name and details of the contractor who carried out the installation works of the seven stand-alone lights. Whether the retainer fee has already been released to the contractor. If not, whether, the County Government will issue the retainer fee notwithstanding the status of the two stand-alone lights.
