The Public Accounts Committee chaired by Hon. Patrick Kanyi (MCA Thegu River Ward) this morning held a consultative meeting with officers from the Department of Finance and Economic Planning led by the CEC Robert Thuo and representation from the Office of the Auditor General to deliberate and respond to the Audit Queries on the Nyeri County Executive Car Loan and Mortgage (Staff) Scheme Fund for the financial years ending 30th June 2022, 2023 and 2024.![]()

The Committee will thereafter make a report to be tabled in the House.

Officers from the Department of Medical Services and Public Health led by the CEC Dr. Joseph Kiragu and the Director Dr. Nelson Muriu yesterday appeared before the Health Services Committee chaired by Hon. Njuguna Kawanjiku (MCA Mweiga Ward) to respond to requests for statements raised by Hon. Members on matters Health. ![]()

The first request for statement was raised by Hon. Patrick Karanja (Nominated) on whether the procurement of construction works of the outpatient block at Mukurwe-ini Hospital had commenced. The Hon. Member also sought to know the steps that had been taken to fast-track commencement and completion of the construction work to ensure that the project will be at an advanced stage before the end of the financial year. He also requested for a detailed work plan including timelines for execution.![]()

The second request for statement under discussion was from Hon. Patrick Muriuki (Kabaru Ward MCA) on the reasons behind the delay in completion of Mbiriri Dispensary and a work plan on when the Department plans to re-tender the works and complete the health facility to ensure it is up and running.![]()

The third request was from Gakawa Ward MCA Hon. Hon. Charity Wachira on whether it is possible to consider rehabilitating the public utility at Gathioro in Gakawa Ward to a fully functional dispensary. The Hon. Member also sought to know the steps the Department will take to ensure that the residents of Equator, Gathioro, Toll/Kaaga and Upper Burguret areas are able to access healthcare services without travelling over a long distance.

The County Assembly Committee on Finance and Economic Planning chaired by Hon. Atanasio Kabaire (Mukurwe-ini West Ward MCA) this morning held a consultative meeting with officers from the Department of Education, Training & Devolution led by the CEC Margaret Macharia. Together with the Chief Officer Dr. Lucy Ndumba and the Director, Richard Kimani they officers shed light on the Elimu Fund and Enterprise Fund Financial Statements for the year ended, 30th June 2024.
